DJ
For 12 years, I’ve been a regular DJ for nightclubs, festivals, pubs, radio, weddings, birthday parties, engagements, gyms, and everything in between. I've had an extremely full-filling career so far, and I don't plan to stop any time soon!
Some highlights, in no particular order, are headlining stages at festivals across the South West, including Hewishstock, Yeovil Beer Fest, Home Farm Fest, among many others; another highlight supporting big name acts on their tours, namely Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, as well as supporting the Ministry of Sound and Cream tour teams when they played at Westlands in Yeovil.
It's also been a huge honour to be chosen to play at weddings and birthday parties over the years!
MUSIC PRODUCER
I have always been a very keen musician and music producer; when I ran Antix, music production played a huge part in developing younger artists, and helping them release their music onto streaming services.
Over the years, I’ve produced hundreds of songs, as well as several full length albums, and EPs. I’ve also produced jingles and fillers for radio and adverts. I have produced in nearly all genres, including acoustic, rock, metal, electronic, dance, folk, and pop.
Over the time, I've had various recording spaces and studios, and have spent a lot more time looking for premises than I'd like to; therefore I am now comfortable again in my parents loft able to do bits and pieces on the side for friends and my own projects!
My biggest achievement in music production is having 2 x #1 Amazon Music Download Singles in 2018 and 2020 - one, a cover of John Lennon’s Working Class Hero, which featured Paul Harmer on vocals, percussion and production, and Ben Eve on bass guitar. The second was a single I recorded for Charlene Clease, a singer / songwriter from Weymouth.
HOSTING
With DJing and running events, hosting has become a new skill I've developed over the years. I'm confident at talking over PAs in front of live audiences, with many examples of experience, including hosting a talent show at the Closet Nightclub; stages at festivals, and open mic events.
SOUND TECH
Live sound tech-ing has become an essential skill throughout my career with Antix Music Network; from the organisation of cables and equipment the night before, to setting up the PA, monitor systems and lights, and tech-ing for a huge variety of performances - the most technically challenging being a 20 strong Ukelele Ensemble, and a 30 strong choir.
I have my own PA, monitor system and lighting rig for most events; if I do need any more equipment or technicians, I know plenty of people who will be happy to help!
SOCIAL MEDIA / GRAPHIC DESIGN
Over the years, I have developed a very efficient and effective schedule to my various social media pages, and am able to make eye catching content quickly for all platforms and ratios.
I'm not a graphic designer in the sense that I'm an artist; but I can make you a poster with key information really quickly, and stand out with all your own business and personal branding, ready to post on your social media, and for printing.
RADIO
One of my first ever opportunities was at Abbey104 - my slot was 11pm on a Monday night. Radio has been a key way of 'getting noticed' by venues, festivals and promoters, and I always like to have a toe in the scene. Currently, I am on Antix; Radio Friday nights at 6pm with a weekly show, but I have had residencies on other stations, including Air107.2 for Weymouth and Portland.
WEBSITES
If you are looking for a cheap, simple website, which holds your contact information, photos, videos, and key info, I’m your guy! I’ve run a lot of websites for musicians over the years. If you need more than I can do, Max also runs his own media company and can further advise you.
